December 12, 2014 - Locked in Ice

The alchemist visited again while I was away.  She never stays and waits for me.  While the water vapor hugged and shimmied all around creation in a cool and mesmerizing dance, the alchemist removed her crucible from the flames when no one was looking.  Instantly, the new manifestation clung to everything it touched, afraid of its bold and heavy shape, wallowing in sorrow over its lost ability to fly.  But that was not all.  She called upon the fairies of the mineral kingdom, and they crystallized the dancer until it was locked in ice.

And that’s how I found everything:  locked in ice, entombed in a crystalline prison.  Now the Lords of structure and symmetry prevail, and the chaotic dance of new form will have to wait until the alchemist fires up her athanor and starts the dance again.  In the meantime, if you see her, tell her I’ve been searching for her.

No matter how small, everything is locked in ice.
