ON HOLY GROUND
Yes, let’s gather in
the yard
on holy ground
that freezes just as
cold
warms just as easily
greens just a
prettily
as the unholy ground.
Let’s be surrounded
by the woods
abutting holy ground
with leaves just as
green
pine needles just as
sharp
woodland animals just
as quick
as the unholy ground.
Let’s meet together at
last
free of our final
form
striving, then, for
the oneness
that we fought
against
the wholeness that we
were
but were too blind to
see
that cares not for
the holy
or the unholy
but strives instead
for peace alone.
