THE JOURNEY
When I get to the top
where do I go
after that?
after climbing and
hoping
after planning and
scheming
and choosing each
step
where do I go?
what’s the next
thing?
because it can’t just
end there
up at the top
it has to go on
there has to be more
because if not
then what’s the
point?
my dreams were all at
the bottom
my hopes were at the
beginning
my plans and schemes
were at the middle
in my travels
all for the goal of
reaching the top
and then
to find out
that the real destination
all along
was the journey.
